Training to be given by Alice Gato and Sinan Eden

As we evaluate our previous strategies (our past), as we analyze the current context (our present) and as we plan our next strategies (our future), we must make sure to make new mistakes and to take new risks. In order to “fail forward”, we should gain an awareness of the movements and currents in history, how they analyzed their own context, and why and how they succeeded and failed. This session puts our movement within the “long run”, not in the sense of being the first step of what comes next, but in the sense of being the latest step of a centuries-long movement tradition. Inspired by the Movements and Currents section (§2.2) of the book All In, we will have a glimpse atrevolutionary movements and currents, from Carbonari to socialist mass movements, from anti-colonial movements to new social movements. We will explore their relevance and importance for strategic considerations today.
